Great Fish Community Challenge - Special Edition Newsletter 1/5 August 10th, 2023

The Whitefish Community Center is in the Great Fish Community Challenge and appreciates your support

For us as a non-profit organization this is our largest fundraiser and we are honored to be part of this tremendous fundraising effort for a total of 78 local organizations in the area.

The Great Fish Community Challenge starts today and runs through September 15th.

I absolutely love the enthusiasm that the Whitefish Community Center’s board members are showing up with to make the most of this annual fundraiser for us. Rick Kinonen, a senior board member at WCC for over 20 years, is waiving a sign here at one of the pop-up stations last year but you will see him standing on the streets again this year. Thank you Rick, for all your hard work!

Saturday Car Window Wash at WCC

Did you take your car to GNP recently, or any of our scenic back country roads? If so, your car windows for sure need some TLC! Come by WCC tomorrow, Saturday, August 12th between 10am and 12pm and get your windows washed for free! We have a young crew lined up that will help this.

The Whitefish Community Center is located right by Kay Beller Park on 121 East Second Street. You can’t miss us, we will be all dressed in orange and waiving our Great Fish Community Center signs at you.

Keep the memories…… Lose the grime!

The Great Fish Community Challenge is happening now. Please donate to the Whitefish Community Center and your other favorite non-profit organizations during this time. We appreciate your support!

Hi, my name is Katja Schalbetter, I am the Director here at the Whitefish Community Center. Over the past 10 months, I have had the honor and pleasure of working for all the people that make the Community Center so special. Their enthusiasm for this community as a whole and the Center in particular, their laughter, their stories, their worries, and sometimes tears have touched my heart deeply. This is, hands down, the most rewarding job I have ever had.

Please join me over the next five weeks as I share - with their permission - the stories of the people of the Whitefish Community Center and give you a peek behind the scenes and show you what makes our world here go around and around.

The Community Center is a multi-purpose hub that connects people from all walks of life and offers different things for different people. The social bonds created here help build a strong, safe, and inclusive community, and promote social interaction, volunteerism, and civic pride.

Come see me at the Whitefish Community Center any weekday between 9am and 2pm.

I happily give you a tour and tell you all about the latest activities of ours!

💕 Katja
