Our king and queen just nailed it!

The first two days of February were filled with fun and merriment for Whitefish Community Center. We hosted the coronation of our Golden Knight and Golden Lady with a luncheon worthy of royalty, and we decorated ourselves in tie-dye and flowers, as the theme for the 2019 Whitefish Winter Carnival was Woodstock Music Festival’s 50th Anniversary. (Can we all recall the East Coast event from 1969?)

We were honored to have Sandi Bellissimo and her husband, Jim Bellissimo, as our royalty for this year’s event. Sandi is a regular at our fitness classes and previously served as a trustee on our Board of Directors. Because Jim is getting close to retirement, we hope to see more of him at the Community Center in the future!

Sunny weather graced us all for the parade. Sandi tossed rose blooms to the crowd, and Jim tossed candy to the kids. We’re looking forward to repeating the whole scene next year!

Our thanks to Kalispell Ford for the use of a “4 door pickup” as our parade vehicle, and to Safeway floral department for providing the flowers. And thanks to all who volunteered to help serve at our luncheon.

Our thanks also to the Kalispell kitchen for preparing a feast of tender pot roast, mashed potatoes, gravy, carrots, croissant, and lemon dessert bars.
