  • March 20th - Kaffee und Kuchen!

    Did you learn German in school? Did you live abroad at some point and learned German? Did you grow up with a family who spoke/speaks German? Is your German rusty and needs a little love? Come join us on March 20, 2023 at 1pm for Kaffee und Kuchen and some conversation in German. This is very low key, no proficiency required. Just a good old excuse to get together and enjoy a nice piece of German cake. Please share this date with anyone you know that might enjoy practicing their German. In April we will chat in Spanish, in May in French. Stay tuned!

Please come join Tom Hughes, our board president, and Katja Schalbetter, our Director of Operations, for People, Pie and Prattle on March 29, 2023 at 12.30pm. Come share your thoughts and ideas! Oh yeah, and there will be coffee and pie - of course.

  • March Madness Birthdays!

    March Madness at the Center means a great birthday lunch and get-together for members who celebrate their birthday in March. The March birthday lunch is Thursday, March 16 at 11:30 am. Come and join in the laughter, good food and birthday cake with others who are celebrating a March birthday. Everyone had great fun celebrating birthdays in January and February, so let’s make March a great celebration too.

  • The Royal Couple

    The coronation for the Center’s King and Queen, Pat and Colin Colbert, took place at the Whitefish Community Center on February 2 with the Winter Carnival Royal Court officiating. Kathy Cozad, the Center’s former Site Manager, and board member Nancy Beougher, were also knighted at this same ceremony. The royal couple has been in a flurry of activities since accepting the role of King and Queen which culminated at the Grand Parade where Pat and Colin were greeted by enthusiastic, loud and welcoming cheers as they made their way down the parade route. The Community Center is honored to have them represent us.

  • March Ballroom Dance

    Sunday, March 12th, 2PM - 5PM The 2nd Sunday of March means dancing at Whitefish Community Center! We have put together a DJ playlist sure to get your feet moving and hips swaying. Waltz, Foxtrot, Argentine Tango, Salsa, Cha-Cha, Swing, Cowboy Two-Step...we do it all! There is always room for song requests as well. Dancing starts at 2pm. We will have a refreshments break at 3:30pm and then dance until 5pm. The Whitefish Community Center has a large floor with lots of room to show off your dance moves. Also lots of comfortable seating if you would just like to watch, sip coffee, and tap your foot! We play music that is just fun to listen to. Children are welcome with -attentive- adult supervision. There is no dress code but let’s face it...its fun to dress up! This event is offered FREE OF CHARGE and open to the public by the Whitefish Community Center. Donations are gratefully accepted.

  • New Switchboard for WCC

    IMPORTANT UPDATE! If you have called the Whitefish Community Center recently, you may have been surprised by our new switchboard. Please do not be alarmed! Our staff have not been replaced by a computer. We have updated the phone system to make receiving your calls more efficient. Please listen to the message completely to the end before making your selection for who you are trying to speak to. We do ask for your patience as we work out the kinks of learning a new system. Hopefully, these changes will help us serve you better and more promptly in the future. Thank you!

  • ACTIVITIES FOR EVERYONE!

    Check out the February Golden Gazette and Activity Calendar featured on the Home page. The Community Center has a variety of activities that promote health, education and social enrichment. If you have an activity you would like to suggest for the Center, please let us know. We love new ideas here!! Come join us!!

  • HOCKADAY MUSEUM FIELD TRIP

    Whitefish Community Center will take a field trip to the Hockaday Museum on Tuesday, February 21. We will leave from the Center by bus at 11 am, stop for lunch, and then tour the “Broad Spectrum: Contemporary Quilts” exhibit. The tour will last approximately one hour, returning to the Center afterwards. Please join us. The cost is $15. Please call for a reservation.

  • ROYAL CORONATION

    Join us on Thursday, February 2, at 11 am for the coronation of Pat and Colin Colbert, the Center’s King and Queen for the LXIV Winter Carnival. This year’s Carnival theme is Fire & Ice, Celebrating Montana’s First Responders. The entire 2023 Royal Court will join us to crown the royal couple. Come join in!   • Roads, Rocks, & Ruins - The Poetry of Glacier National Park series comes to WCC!

    From the winding Going-to-the-Sun Road to the mountains upon which it was built; from the abandoned ruins scattered throughout to the scenery which continues to inspire us to create art and poetry. Come explore the unique beauty of Glacier National Park through four captivating presentations. February 1, 5:30pm......Yesterday, Today, & Tomorrow: the Going-to-the-Sun Road Presented by: Bill Schustrom February, 8, 5:30pm......If Rocks Could Talk Presented by Teagan Tomlin February 15, 5:30pm.....All That Remains Presented by Mel Graf February 22, 5:30pm.....The Spirit of Glacier in Poetry Presented by Doug Follett This presentation series is sponsored by Whitefish Community Center and offered FREE OF CHARGE. Come join us and learn more about this awe-inspiring place.

  • VALENTINE BALLROOM DANCE

    It’s Valentine Weekend! And is there anything more romantic than dancing? Come dance the afternoon away in the arms of your love to a string of amazing dance numbers. We have put together a DJ playlist sure to get your feet moving. Waltz, Foxtrot, Argentine Tango, Salsa, Cha-Cha, Swing, Cowboy Two-Step … we do it all! There is always room for song requests as well. Dancing starts at 2pm. We will have a refreshments break at 3:30pm and then dance until 5pm. Maybe surprise your date with dinner reservations somewhere in Whitefish for afterwards? The Whitefish Community Center has a large floor with lots of room to show off your dance moves. Also lots of comfortable seating if you would just like to watch, sip coffee, and tap your foot! We play music that is just fun to listen to. Children are welcome with attentive supervision. There is no dress code, but let’s face it … it’s fun to dress up! This event is FREE OF CHARGE. Donations are gratefully accepted.
