Meals-on-Wheels Coordinator

Position Overview
The Meals-on-Wheels Coordinator is responsible for the coordination and operation of the WCC Meals on Wheels program. The Meals-on-Wheels Coordinator manages and oversees all aspects of the community food delivery program, including kitchen safety management; volunteer recruitment, retention, scheduling and county oversight reporting. This is a part time position: Monday through Friday from 9:00 am - 12:30 pm.
Core Duties

Volunteer recruitment, scheduling, training, and retention

Order the correct number of meals for the next day (including meals that satisfy various dietary requirements), as well as any supplies needed for the continued operation of the kitchen

Maintain record of daily deliveries & congregate meals

Keep all client records up to date, accurate, and confidential

Prioritize tasks and complete all necessary duties within the timeframe required; plan, organize, and meet deadlines for all parts of the Meals on Wheels program

Maintain cleanliness of the office space, kitchen, and community center building

Attend mandatory nutrition meetings at the Agency on Aging building in Kalispell
Supplemental Duties

Maintain a welcoming and inviting atmosphere within the Community Center

Shovel snow off of the sidewalk outside of the Community Center (when applicable)

Prepare additional administrative documents necessary for the smooth operation of the Meals on Wheels program and supporting the Director of Operations in any other assigned tasks.
Skills Required

Motivated, energetic, helpful, and enthusiastic attitude. Able to demonstrate patience and understanding. A great communicator who loves working with people.

Computer literacy and the ability to operate different types of software, especially various applications on Google Workspace and Microsoft Office

Clear and friendly phone communication

Effective multi-tasking skills and the ability to navigate a busy office environment.

Must be respectful and sensitive to the diverse needs of the volunteers and clients at WCC

Good judgment and decision making while managing the volunteers. Flexibility and the ability to adapt to various situations

Emergency preparedness
-
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds daily
Educational Requirements
-
18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or equivalent

Ability to administer CPR and operate an AED
-
Driver’s license and clean driving record

Must have an acceptable criminal history and pass a background check
Hours
Monday - Friday 9:00 am - 12:30 pm while the Center is open
Compensation
$18.00 per hour
