ROYALTY AMONG US

Hurray! Jim and Karen Morrell will be the Community Center’s king and queen, representing the Center at the 2022 Winter Carnival festivities, February 4-6. They have been a vital part of Whitefish since moving here from the San Diego, CA, area in 1994. Their community activity involvement includes the Moose Lodge, Winter Carnival Board of Directors and High Ullr Award, the Retired Senior Volunteer Program, the Chamber of Commerce, Trustee and Life member of Whitefish VFW Post 276, and the Whitefish Community Center. Karen has been honored as Ambassador of the Year for the Chamber of Commerce and is still active in that role. Jim has served on the Whitefish Community Center Board of Directors for several years and is a past president. He also delivers meals for the Meals on Wheels Program. The once avid skiers and golfers are now retired from those activities, but still enjoy fishing, camping and other interests . The couple has three sons, four grandchildren and two great grandsons. We are honored to have them as our king and queen.
The theme for this year’s Winter Carnival is the 1980s. What do you remember from those years? Coronation ceremonies for our royal couple will occur in the first week of February, depending on the schedule and desires of the Duchess of Lark. The entire 2022 Winter Carnival Court will join us for the coronation, so we can anticipate lots of pomp and circumstance.
Check out our website and Facebook page to get up-to-date information on the coronation date and activities as Winter Carnival approaches.
