It's Time to Welcome You Back!

We are pleased to announce the Community Center’s soft opening on Thursday, April 1. Our first meal service will be on that same day, and we are now taking reservations. Meals will be served at 11:30 am. The menu is included with this newsletter, so please take a look!

We are so eager to have friends, old and new, join us at our lunch table.

However, even with all the excitement, in order to keep everyone safe during this time of Covid, we have needed to implement a few changes and we ask that each of you comply with them.

The changes are as follows:

Please wear a mask when you enter and exit the building and also if you use the restroom.

Please use the hand sanitizing dispensers placed at each door when entering and exiting the building (and even while you are in the building).

Our coffee bar will no longer be self-service. Volunteers will be happy to bring you coffee or water or both when you are seated for your meal.

As already expressed, we are so eager to welcome everyone back into the building. While we were closed for Covid, many changes were made to enhance the building. The 40-foot crack in our dining room floor is gone, and in its place is a striking faux wood floor that is flat and level from one end of the building to the other. We also have new interior paint and plumbing.

To celebrate the reopening, we plan to have a combined open house and volunteer thank-you event in late spring or summer. Stay tuned for more on that event!

What else is happening?

To continue the Community Center’s aim of promoting good health, we are pleased to announce the return of the Senior Fitness class AND Tai Chi classes. The Senior Fitness class is designed for folks with limited balance or stability on their feet. The class is held with participants exercising while seated on chairs, while still emphasizing the goals of strength and aerobic fitness. The first class will be held on Tuesday, April 13, at 10 a.m. and on each Tuesday and Thursday thereafter. The instructors are Margo Mortensen and Pat Gilbert.

The Tai Chi class will start on Wednesday, April 14, at 10 am. We are pleased to let you know Andy Hamer will be returning as our instructor.

Unfortunately, due to the Community Center’s soft opening, classes will initially be open to fewer participants. Because of this limitation, we ask that you call in advance to reserve your spot for both the Senior Fitness and the Tai Chi class.

Important Information:

Cost for the exercise classes is $4 per session. Members are free!

Meals for non-seniors is $6. Meals for seniors is a voluntary donation.

We will honor all the meal punch cards that were purchased before the Covid closure.

The phone number to call for all reservations or questions is (406) 862-4923.

Our business hours are the same as pre-Covid: Monday through Friday from 9 am to 2 pm, except holidays.

Come join in the fun and friendship, and don’t forget to call first to reserve your place for the returning health fitness classes.

Make new friends, but keep the old; one is silver and the other gold.
