ADOPT-A-PARK

Summer is here, and in the spirit of getting outside and enjoying the anticipated warm weather, the WCC has partnered with Whitefish Parks and Recreation and agreed to be the custodian for our neighboring green space, Kay Beller Park. The Center feels that partnering in the “care” of our city and surrounding spaces is important, and Kay Beller Park is the perfect fit for us as the small park is adjacent to our facility, just west of our parking lot on the Whitefish River.

What this means for the Community Center is that volunteers are needed to help us clean up and maintain this beautiful park. Several high school students, board members and community members have stepped up to the challenge already, but this will be an ongoing project for the Community Center throughout the summer and fall and we welcome and need all volunteers.

Some of the maintenance items are:

· Mow the lawn

· Pick up garbage

· Pick up the sticks that the willow tree sheds

· Wipe down picnic tables and benches

· Weed flower bed, if needed

· Sweep trail/sidewalk as needed

If you are interested in helping maintain the park, call the Center at (406) 862-4923 to find out how you can lend a helping hand. Please join us in this community project.
