Tour the newest addition to our high school!

Have you ever wondered what goes on inside the odd-looking, standalone building on the new Whitefish High School campus? You can find out by touring the facility with us on June 27. Our tour will be led by Taylor Wilmot, Facilities and Grounds Coordinator.

The project/facility is named “Center for Sustainability and Entrepreneurship” and opened in April 2018. It was funded through community philanthropy and local, regional, and national grants.

Here, students from kindergarten through high school can experience sustainable agriculture, forestry, energy systems, and building practices, as well as pathways to “green” careers.

The Center is also the first net-zero facility in Montana. At the end of a year, it will have put at least as much electricity back into the public grid as it has consumed.

We will meet at the high school just before 2 pm. (Transportation is not provided.) The tour lasts about one hour. Stairs are involved to get to and from the second floor. For portions of the tour, you can be seated, if desired. The address is 1143 East 4th Street, Whitefish. Parking will be plentiful, as school is not in session. Cost is free. Questions? Talk to Kathy or call 862-4923.
