History of Whitefish program:
"The Greatest Camping Stories Ever Told"
What’s your favorite (or worst!) camping memory? Did you hike for miles in the back country, only to discover you forgot to pack the matches or worse your sleeping bag? Hear the stories and tell your own as the History of Whitefish program series continues with Walter Sayre of the Stumptown Historical Society, in a program we’re calling “The Greatest Camping Stories Ever Told.” This free community program will take place on Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at 12:30 pm at the Whitefish Community Center Audience stories and photos about their funniest/scariest/facinating camping or outdoor recreation stories are encouraged. Oktoberfest Returns!
Mark your calendars for September 26th for our annual Oktoberfest Celebration! Taking place at the Center from 1-4 pm, we'll have traditional German Fare, Beer for Sale & Music by the Bavarian Echos and dancing of course (chicken dance anyone?) Yoga for Healthy Aging: A *NEW* Class starting June 15th - Tuesdays at 9:30 am at the Whitefish Community Center. Taught by Erica Ruta of the Whitefish Sport Center, these classes will emphasize improving flexibility, healthy breathing techniques and mind/body connection. Participants should wear fitted comfortable clothes and bring a yoga mat if they have one, but it's not necessary for partipation. Cost of the class is $5 per session ($3 for Whitefish Community Center members).
Balancing Act: Exercise class designed to improve balance and coordination and prevent falls. Mondays at 11 am at the Whitefish Community Center and Wednesdays 9:30 am at the Whitefish Sport Center (2006 Hospital Way). $2 per class ($1 for Whitefish Community Center members). [NOTE: new class time on Mondays]
